Easy shopping lists.
If you are like me you plan what you are going to cook for the week or fortnight and write it on a list so you remember. Put it on the fridge and it saves hearing that question 2 or 3 times a day - "Mum, whats for tea?" Once you know what you are going to cook you write up the shopping list.
If you are going to the effort of writing it down why not go one little step further and record it properly? The Budget Specialist showed me a great way to list it all so that it is handy for a shopping list but great as a permanent reference. I have adapted it to suit my lifestyle as you will be able to do, too.

Ginger Lemongrass Fish
This is a recipe for 2 but it is easy to adapt it to suit the size of your family. The spices give a kick to the fish without burning your mouth out, but if you have tender tastebuds then cut back a little on them. Not too much, though, or you will miss the buzz in this dish.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp chopped lemongrass
1 tspn minced ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp (or to taste) minced chili
2 pieces firm white fish fillet.
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients, except the fish, into a paste. Rub it all over the fish and then leave the fish to marinate for about 5 minutes.
Heat a heavy based pan to a high heat and place the fish in it. Seal the fish and then turn it over. Lower the heat to medium and cook through.
That’s it. Simple. We usually serve it with salads from the deli or with steamed vegetables and rice.
